The College of Education is a thriving community of professionals dedicated to preparing highly qualified classroom teachers, school principals, school counselors, school psychologists, family counselors, community college personnel, and other professionals in fields related to education.

College Spotlight

Dr. Marquita Grenot-Scheyer became Interim Dean of the College effective August 1, 2008. Dr. Grenot-Scheyer came to CSU Long Beach in 1988, and has served as Associate Dean since 2002. She earned her Ph.D. in Special Education in the Joint Doctoral program, University of California, Los Angeles and California State University, Los Angeles. Read the Message from the Interim Dean.


The Ed. D. in Educational Leadership inaugural cohort began taking classes Summer 2007. The application deadline for Cohort 3 is January 12th with the program starting in Summer 2009. For more information visit the Ed. D. in Educational Leadership website.
