Message from Dean Marquita Grenot-Scheyer

Welcome to the College of Education at California State University, Long Beach and thank you for your interest in our educational programs.  We have outstanding faculty, supportive staff, state-of-the-art facilities, and strong partnerships with local schools and community agencies. Our graduates are sought out by local schools and community agencies.  Our faculty are one of our greatest assets; they are each talented in their individual areas of expertise and committed to furthering the education of our outstanding students.

We prepare large numbers of highly qualified classroom teachers, school principals, school counselors, school psychologists, family counselors, community college personnel, and other professionals in fields related to education. Our college combines high-quality, rigorous programs with a service orientation to accommodate the needs of our diverse student population.  Classes are offered both in the daytime and evening.

Much of the strength of the College of Education comes from the fact that the preparation of educators is seen as a university-wide responsibility. Our President, Provost, College Deans, and other administrative leaders support excellence in the College of Education through both word and action.
