Master of Arts in Education

Option: Educational Psychology

Description:

A research-oriented option in the Masters of Arts (MA) in Education has been designed for students and educators who seek to develop their understanding of learning and development, testing and assessment, research, and program evaluation in education. This program offers a rigorous curriculum in each of these areas and requires that the student declare a foundation emphasis within the Option.

All students who are admitted to the master's program are assigned to Track 1. Admission to the MA, Option in Educational Psychology does not guarantee acceptance to the highly competitive School Psychologist Credential Program.

Students with this credential objective must apply separately to the School Psychologist Credential Program. Upon acceptance to the School Psychology Credential Program, a master's student may petition to be assigned to Track 2 no later than May 1 of that academic year. (Check the CSULB Catalog and the Department Office for application deadlines.)
