Accreditation

Message from Dean Marquita Grenot-Scheyer:

I want to welcome you to the accreditation website at California State University, Long Beach. Our professional education unit is large and complex, with overlapping programs, lines of authority, and responsibilities, as you will see from the Institutional Report. The unit comprises three initial teacher preparation programs, six advanced teacher preparation programs, and twelve programs for other school personnel housed in two colleges, eight departments and one university-wide program.  We have over 200 full-time and part-time faculty, and approximately 50 support staff and administrators.

We are committed to accreditation because we believe that we are accountable for high standards of quality.  Our conceptual framework represents much more than an exercise – we truly believe in lifelong learning, professional development, and social responsibility.  Our Institutional Report tells much of our story.  More of the story lies in the heads and hearts of our faculty, staff, administration, students, and P-12 school partners.
