School Psychology FAQ Detail

PPS Credential/Masters School Psychology

  1. What is the difference between fieldwork and internship?
  1. Our program and the California Teaching Credential (CTC) regulations require students to complete a minimum of 1200 hours of school psychology fieldwork. Students who have completed the credential coursework (except EdPs 560, 527, and 536, and 642) and the masters degree are eligible to apply for an internship credential. The internship credential is awarded by CTC and generally benefits the student by allowing them to earn more money while completing their fieldwork hours. In short, all graduates of the program complete a fieldwork experience, some hold internship credentials while they are field workers and others do not.
