with our partnering districts in supporting eligible candidates throughout
their internship program, the University does not find internship positions
for candidates.
The Intern Credential is granted by the CCTC for a 2 year period. All program coursework, field study and other program requirements must be completed within this timeframe.
ESIP coursework parallels coursework in the Level I program, although some courses are taken in a different order (see below).
Candidates must maintain continuous enrollment while on an intern
credential. An individual program plan is developed for each intern when
they are admitted into ESIP. Interns receive support from both CSULB
and their school districts. Financial support is available. Upon successful
completion of ESIP, candidates earn the Level I Education Specialist Credential.
