FINGERPRINT CLEARANCE Students applying to a credential program at CSULB must meet California Commission on Teacher Credentialing fingerprint clearance guidelines. Fingerprint Clearance can be met in one of three ways: Certificate of Clearance, Emergency Permit or Substitute Permit. CSULB Liberal Studies students who are completing S.E.R.V.E. observation hours and know that they will be entering a teaching credential program in the future are required to complete the full Certificate of Clearance process as well as the LBUSD Clearance. Click here for instructions for online application for the Certificate of Clearance. Questions? Call the Credential Center at 562-985-4109. Proof of application for Clearance must be submitted with the MSCP application packet. Proof of having received full clearance must be submitted prior to beginning of student teaching.
