Prospective Students

  • This section of the Liberal Studies web site serves as a resource for those who are interested in becoming Liberal Studies students.  Please understand that by using the tools suggested, you are not guaranteed admission into CSULB or the Liberal Studies program.

  • It is required of newly admitted freshmen and transfer students, that they attend CSULB's Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration, SOAR.  At SOAR students will receive general information about CSULB and will learn specific information about the Liberal Studies major. New Liberal Studies students will be advised into their courses by a Liberal Studies SOAR advisor.

  • Currently enrolled CSULB students who wish to declare Liberal Studies as their major, should contact the Liberal Studies office and sign up for an Open File Workshop for the program of their choice.The Liberal Studies Department offer two programs: Track I, and ITEP.  For more information about these options, go to the Programs page on the menu above.
