and English teachers are particularly sought after at this time.
If students are planning to earn an Education Specialist Credential,
they should plan to concentrate in Language and Literacy.
- Concentration options are described in more detail in the CSULB catalog under
Liberal Studies, Track I, concentrations. Students should declare their concentration early in the program by seeing a Liberal Studies Advisor.
This will provide you with more course options
to register for.
- The concentration consists of a minimum of 12 units, at least 9 of which
must be at the upper-division (300-400) level (with the exception of the
Natural Science concentration). No concentration course may be taken Credit/No
Credit. No course used to fulfill a core requirement may be used to fulfill
a concentration requirement. Call or visit
the Liberal Studies office at (562) 985-4228 to schedule an advising appointment.
