Liberal Studies Freshman Workshop

Event Date & Time:
Tuesday, October 17, 2017 - 10:00am - 11:00am
Location:
EED-17

First-Semester Freshmen Students who major in Liberal Studies (or intend to) are required to meet with an academic advisor in Freshman Mandatory Advising Workshops during their first and second semester at CSULB. Enrollment Services places a registration hold on all first-semester freshmen. To have this hold removed, students must meet with an academic advisor to discuss academic planning.

First-semester advising focuses primarily on E-Advising tools, resources on campus, and further coverage of the Liberal Studies Program. All Workshops are conducted in group settings (approx. 10-15 students). The workshops typically last one hour.

Students schedule themselves for these workshops by following directions provided in an email sent after the first few weeks of their first semester. Reminder emails are also sent by the Department as well.

After completion of Mandatory Advising, a Liberal Studies advisor will lift the student's registration hold.

For more information, please contact the Teacher Preparation Advising Center at 562-985-1105 or EED-67, and ask to speak with a Liberal Studies Advisor, or you may email CED-LibSt@csulb.edu
