Educational Leadership Article Highlights Research of Dr. William Jeynes

Dr. William (Bill) Jeynes, professor in the Teacher Education department, was credited for his research in the September issue of Educational Leadership magazine. Educational Leadership is an authoritative source of information about teaching and learning and covers the latest trends and issues from prekindergarten through higher education.

The article titled, “Research Matters: The Power of Parental Expectations,” emphasizes the results of Jeynes’ meta-analyses that address parental expectations, family involvement, communication, parental style, and mothers and fathers attending school functions. One salient point that Jeynes addresses is how “the parenting style most correlated with student success combines love and support with structure and discipline.” Read more results of Jeynes’ meta-analyses in the online article
