Biography

Pat has been employed as a faculty member at CSULB since 1978. Prior to that she was an elementary school teacher in southern California with classroom teaching experience in grades kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 6th, and later serving as a Reading Specialist in a Title 1 school. In her early years at CSULB she taught education courses for the Experential Learning Center, University College and Extension Services and continually for the Department of Teacher Education, including both on-campus and off-campus courses in reading methods, and diagnosis and remediation of difficulties in reading. She worked with seventeen school districts as a University Supervisor overseeing the progress of CSULB student teachers, and in 1998 became the Interim Director of Field Programs for the Multiple Subject Program. Beginning in 1999 to the present, she is Coordinator of the Multiple Subject Credential Program and Director of Multiple Subject Internships, and recently became Co-Director Of the Teacher Preparation Advising Center in the College of Education providing admission information and program advising for three basic teaching credential programs, Multiple Subject, Education Specialist and Single Subject.
