Monday from 02:00 PM - 04:00 PM BiographyDr. Bita Ghafoori is an Associate Professor and Co-coordinator of the Marriage and Family Therapy Program. After completing her doctoral degree, she completed clinical post-doctoral training at California State University, Fresno Health and Psychological Services and research post-doctoral training with UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program. She has extensive experience as a mental health clinician. She currently works part-time in private practice and is a former staff psychologist at the Central California VA Medical Center. She teaches courses in treatment planning (COUN 608), ethics and law (COUN 510), psychological diagnosis (COUN 513), psychotherapy techniques (COUN 522), practica in Marriage and Family Therapy (COUN 609), fieldwork in Marriage and Family Therapy (COUN 643d and COUN 644d), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (COUN 692). In addition, she provides clinical supervision to students learning adult psychotherapy skills in the Educational Psychology Clinic. Dr. Ghafoori’s research focuses on postrraumtic stress, and she serves as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Trauma and Dissociation as well as the International Society of Traumatic Stress Studies Annual conference.
