Subject Matter Waiver Evaluations
Due to the reduction of funding to the CSU in the state budget, Faculty evaluators will not be on campus during summer 2012 to offer Subject Matter Waiver Evaluations. Any evaluation requests received after Friday May 4, 2012 will be returned or held until the faculty return to campus on August 27, 2012. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
Evaluation of subject matter competence, for non-CSULB students, is available for the following subjects: Art, English, Home Economics, Health, KPE, Languages Other Than English (French, German, Italian, Spanish, Latin, Japanese, not able to evaluate Arabic or Mandarin at this time) Math, Music, Social Science and Industrial Technology in Education. At this time we are unable to evaluate for Science (biology, chemistry, physics, and geoscience) subject matter waivers.
The charge for a Subject Matter Evaluation is $35.00 (fee waived for current CSULB students). The evaluation process takes 6 - 8 weeks to complete (during the summer the evaluation can take longer).
To request a subject matter evaluation, you will need to submit a packet containing the following items and documents:
- Follow all directions on this form

All transcripts (copies of originals are fine, no web printouts)
