Student InformationWelcome to the SERVE Program.The SERVE Program is a Long Beach Education Partnership Project. It is administered through the Center for Collaboration in Education. The SERVE Program has been partially funded by the National Science Foundation's Collaborations for Excellence in Teacher Preparation Program. It creates an opportunity for students at the undergraduate level, in particular for those who are considering careers in K-12 education, to learn about the realities of urban classrooms and the needs of the diverse K-12 student population. Orientation and Training: Orientation - For placement of students who are new to SERVE who have completed training at a community college or who will receive training in their CSULB course orientation is available online at http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8014728036464785314&hl=en or in person on the dates listed below. Training - In person for students who are new to SERVE and will not receive training in their CSULB course. See dates listed below. Transfer students should submit their ED 200 Field Evaluation as a proof of training along with their completed Long Beach Review forms.
SERVE Online System - Login using your Student ID and Beachboard Password to check your placement / status.
Please keep a journal for reflection during an independent rotation.
On-line Placement: ONLINE PLACEMENT IS CLOSED. If you still need to request placement for FALL 08 please do the following: 1. Inform your instructor To check placement, use the Login link above to access your file. When your status shows up as "Placed" for the current session, you may contact the coordinator for the site where you were placed. The coordinator will give you the details for your assignment (location, name of teacher, grade level). Important Information for Students in EDEL 300. COORDINATORS are contacted through CSULB internet accounts only or as indicated on School Coordinator Contact List. Get your CSULB Internet Account Here STUDENTS NEW TO SERVE: TB test certificate, VIPS Form and Livescan receipt needed. Livescan forms available in the SERVE Office, ED1-Room 17.
