English Single Subject Program
Single Subject Credential Program (English). A
program in the College of Education that candidates complete to earn
their Single Subject Credential in English, which allows them to
teach English at the middle and high school levels in the State of
California.
English Education. The name of the major in the Department of English
that provides students who plan to pursue a single subject credential
in English with subject matter competency. At this time, students who earn a B.A.
in English Education are not required to take the four CSET sub-tests
in English. Students who pursue the waiver in English Education at CSULB,
after having their transcripts evaluated, make up deficiencies in course
work from the English Education major in order to waive the CSET exam
in English.
