CompensationAcademic coaches are paid a daily stipend which ranging from $36.00 - $55.00 for an approximate three hour program. Compensation varies depending on the level of education and assigned work location. Academic coaches receive paid training and a 10% bonus upon successfully completing the program year. Special Needs Teacher (Mild to Moderate Special Needs):
Assesses the needs and implements Individual Educational Programs (IEP’s) for students in grade 3-12 with mild to moderate special needs. Offer in-class support for teachers and work with Learning Resource Center teacher and coordinator in further developing the schools Special Needs Program. The Special Needs Program is based on the philosophy of inclusion.
PE Teacher:
Work with PE Assistant in offering student in grades K-12 training in Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, Weights, and Swimming and general Physical Education. Work with the Assistant Teacher in planning and organizing athletic events with other American schools in Egypt.
School Counselor:
Work with faculty and administration in providing academic (K-12), socioemotional, college and career counseling. Serve as a resource to both faculty and students in need of personal support. Prior international experience is a plus.
HS English Teacher (Grades 9-11):
Utilize creativity and innovation in implementing The American School of Alexandria’s High School English curriculum. Assist students in developing their reading, writing, and speaking skills while instilling in them the value of literature in shaping critical minds.
