Financial Aid

In order to receive grants and loans, apply for financial aid by filing a: Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at: www.fafsa.ed.gov or www.csumentor.edu. After your application is received, you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) for review.

In approximately three to four weeks, a copy of the Student Aid Report (SAR) will be mailed to your address.

NOTE: In approximately four to six weeks, Enrollment Services/Financial Aid will receive your application electronically.  The status of your financial aid file may be verified by calling 562.985.1887.

After your application is reviewed, a financial aid award notification will be mailed to you. Please accept the award and return your acceptance to the Office of Financial Aid.  Loan offers will be processed upon the receipt of the separate loan application included with the award notification.  All programs offered through University College Extension Services (UCES) must complete a combined loan application and promissory note.

If your award includes grants and loans, all programs and loans require enrollment of at least half time.  Please refer to the Financial Aid Money Guide for questions regarding specific grant programs and loans.

Disbursement of funds will be prepared by the Financial Aid Business Office, located in Brotman Hall, during the first week of the Fall and Spring semester.
