Partner Units and Support Offices
Partners with the Department
of Teacher Education in offering various programs include many sister
units and support offices. Personnel from these office may be contacted in person, by phone,
or via email. Additional information about their services is available
on their respective websites.
Partner Departments & Offices
- Liberal
Studies Department - offers an integrated teacher preparation program
(ITEP) for college freshmen deciding to become elementary teachers as
well as the Liberal Studies Track I major and it provides advisement
for ITEP candidates in the Multiple Subject Credential Program
- Single Subject Credential Programs
Office - coordinates programs in many CSULB departments which prepare
teachers specializing in one subject area and typically teaching at
the high school or junior high levels,
- Educational Psychology,
Administration, and Counseling (EdPAC) Department - houses the Education
Specialist Programs which prepare teachers to work with students with
special needs, and
- Science Education
Department - provides faculty for science methods courses for MSCP
programs.
Support Offices
- Credential Center - recommends candidates
who complete our programs to the California Commission for Teacher Credentialing
- Educational Career Services (ECS) - provides
information about job opportunities in education and assists condidates
in preparing for employment
- Teacher Preparation Advising Center - provides initial advisement information for becoming a
teacher, coordinates admissions processing for the Multiple Subject
Credential Program and Educational Specialist programs, and provides
advisement for fifth-year candidates admitted to the Multiple Subject
Credential Program
- Field Programs Office - handles the student
teaching phase of the Multiple Subject Credential Program
- Graduate Studies and Research Office
- assists candidates in various masters programs (procedures related
to application, advancement to candidacy, etc.) and coordinates College
of Education scholarships
- SERVE Office - coordinates the field work
placements and record-keeping requirements for many of the courses in
Multiple Subject Credential Program and the Department of Liberal Studies
