Welcome to our alumni web page!
The DLD Alumni Association is hosting a lecture series known as the DLD Coffee Hour Colloquia The colloquia is designed to provide alumni with an opportunity to share their interesting work on dual language development. The DLD Coffee Hour events occur four times a year and we invite you to join us!
Maggie Solorzano and Jackie Torres, Class of 2008, are the new coordinators of our alumni association! Maggie and Jackie are classroom teachers at The New City School, a charter school in Long Beach, California. Recently Maggie and Jackie traveled to Guatemala with another 2008 alum, Christine D'Aquanni and Professor Leslie Reese to present at the 7th International Reading Conference in Guatemala. Their workshop was entitled “La investigacion accion en salones bilingues” (Action Research in Bilingual Classrooms). During their visit they also had the opportunity to visit Mayan schools and meet with Guatemalan teachers.
