Master of Arts in Education

The Master of Arts in Education programs in the Department of Teacher Education are designed for teachers holding their teaching credential (thus their bachelor's degree) who desire to continue formal studies for their professional development.

We offer program choices for both elementary and secondary teachers. The specific program of study for each program choice is online so prospective applicants can select a program which best suits their needs.

The process for application and the journey through the various masters programs in the College of Education is similar.

All programs require

• passage of the Writing Proficiency Exam (WPE) and
• application for Advancement to Candicacy. 

Some programs host an annual event to celebrate thesis progress. 

General advisement is available from the Graduate Office in ED-1 Room 7 (562-985-8476) as well as from the specific program advisor for each of the programs.
