MSCP ITEP Asian Language Bilingual Authorization Program

CSULB offers the Multiple Subject Bilingual Authorization Program in Mandarin, Korean and Vietnamese.

In addition to the requirements for the Multiple Subject Credential, students must complete the following to receive the Asian Language Bilingual Authorization:

  • Meet with Professor Fay Shin, BILA Coordinator-Chinese, Korean or Vietnamese Bilingual Authorization
  • Pass an informal Language Proficiency Exam 
  • Pass CTC Required Language Proficiency Exam (CSET LOTE Subtest III)
  • Take 2 Course Requirements:
  • EDEL 453 Methodology of Bilingual Education AND
  • EDEL 455 C(Chinese Culture), EDEL 455K (Korean Culture) or EDEL 455V (Vietnamese Culture)

8 OF 16 Student Teaching Units are completed in a bilingual setting.
