Multiple Subject Credential - Spanish / English BCLADBilingual Cross-Cultural programs prepare students for teaching in Bilingual Education and English Language Development settings where Spanish is appropriate for instruction, support, and communication with parents and other specified professionals. BCLAD includes all the general MSCP requirements plus: Teaching pedagogy and practicum in a second language; Culture of Emphasis (by coursework or examination) and Fluency of Spanish (by examination). (Total units: 43 plus culture and language of emphasis) Prerequisites (4 units)
Co-Requisites (listed in recommended sequence) (8 units)
Subject Specific Pedagogy Courses(15 units)Note: You must be officially admitted to the Multiple Subject Credential Program to take the following pedagogy courses. 150 hours as a teacher, assistant or volunteer in a multilingual setting is required prior to student teaching. It is recommended that EDEL 452B not be taken during student teaching. One pedagogy course may be taken during student teaching.

Student Teaching(16 units)Note: You must attend a Student Teaching Application Meeting and apply to student teach at the beginning of the semester before you take this course (please see section 6). Student teaching while employed is available; see advisor for details.
