College of Education Adjustment to State Budget Crisis

Due to the state budget crisis, all CSULB faculty and staff are required to take unpaid furlough days during the year. All College of Education offices will be closed 17 days between August 13th and June 30th. In addition, each staff member must take 7 personal furlough days. Consequently, responses to various types of requests for services (walk-in, mail, email, telephone) from college offices may be delayed. We apologize for the inconvenience.


All College of Education offices will be closed on the following days: 8/13, 8/21, 9/8, 10/9, 11/2, 11/25, 12/31, 1/4, 1/5, 1/6, 1/7, 3/26, 3/29, 4/21, 5/6, 6/4, & 6/18. Please note that these are budget-related campus closure days. College offices will also be closed on the normal holidays identified on the campus calendar.

The Teacher Preparation Advising Center (TPAC) is located in ED 1 - 67 within the College of Education at California State University, Long Beach.

TPAC Spring 2010 Office Hours:

  • January 25-February 5, 2010: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 - 5:30. Friday, 8-12 & 1-5.
  • February 8-May 21, 2010: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 - 5:00. Friday, 8-12 & 1-5.
  • Holiday Schedule: The campus will be closed on the following holidays: March 31st (Cesar Chavez Day)
  • TEACHER RESOURCE ROOM: Located in ED2-168, the Center is open to students taking courses in the Single Subject, Multiple Subject, Education Specialist Level I and ITEP programs. Resources include: Free printing for CSULB class assignments; Scanners; Die-cuts; Laminating; Project materials; Test Prep Guides for CBEST, CSET (Multiple Subject, Single Subject English, Social Science, Math, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Art, Spanish) & RICA. The Resource Room hours have been cut due to lack of funding for staff. Please contact Jan Condou at condouj@csulb.edu if you are interested in volunteering to help keep this valuable resource open!

Spring 2010 Resource Room hours: Monday: 12 - 3 pm; Wednesday: 12 - 3 pm; Friday: 8 -10 am and 12 - 3 pm The Resource Room will also be open from 5:00-7:00 pm on the following days: February 23, March 11, March 24, April 13, April 28 and May 4.

Deadlines:

The application to the University is separate from the application to the Credential Programs.

  • Students who wish to take courses in Spring 2010, but have not been admitted to CSULB, may attempt to do so during the first week of the semester on a "space available" basis through Open University.   • Credential Program application deadlines are posted on the individual program websites listed above.
