Multiple Subject Intern Credential Program

In Alternative Pathway of the Multiple Subject Credential Program

What is an intern program/credential?

The California Commission on Teacher Credentialing defines Intern Credentials as follows:

University Internship Credentials are issued to individuals who have enrolled in Commission-approved internship programs. These programs are administered by California colleges and universities in partnership with local school districts and are designed to provide participants with classroom experience while they complete course work requirements for the preliminary or professional clear credential. University Internship Credentials authorize the holder to serve, under the supervision of a Commission-approved college or university and the holder's employer, in the area or subject listed on the credential.

This variation of the Preliminary Multiple Subject Teaching Credential Preparation Program is designed for full-time teachers in districts with which CSULB has an intern agreement and a contract.  All students in this program must be employed by the district as the full-time teacher of record in a regular multiple subjects self-contained classroom and have demonstrated subject matter competence by having passed the CSET. (Total units: 40)
