Lesley Farmer Honored for Authoring Award Winning School Librarian Reference Book

Dr. Lesley Farmer’s book, Information and Digital Literacies: A Curricular Guide for Middle and High School Librarians, was chosen as the winner of the Best Professional Resource for School or Youth Librarians category in the 2017 School Library Connection/American Reference Books Manual Best of Reference Awards. The book provides a “comprehensive resource that ties together standards and curriculum in a logical sequence through the implementation of various learning activities,” according to Jennifer Helfrich of Gwinnett County Public Schools in Georgia. Helfrich describes Dr. Farmer’s book as an “indispensable resource for school librarians.” Dr. Farmer is a professor in the Educational Technology and Media Leadership master’s program and coordinates the Teacher Librarian Services credential and the Applied Disability Studies certificate program.
