Stephen Adams and Fabian Rojas Publish Study Abroad Course Paper

Dr. Stephen Adams, professor of Educational Technology and Media Leadership, has been teaching a short-term study abroad course with travel to Costa Rica, one of several short-term study abroad programs in the College of Education. Dr. Adams and Fabian Rojas, an Ed.D. candidate in CSULB’s Educational Leadership program and a faculty member of Universidad Nacional, Costa Rica, conducted research about student experiences in the course. They have published a paper about the findings, “Interviews of Participants in a Short-Term Study Abroad Program in Costa Rica Regarding Educational Technology” in Research Highlights in Technology in Teacher Education 2017. The abstract of the volume notes, “This distinguished research collection illustrates how teacher educators, researchers and practitioners are collaboratively addressing the use of technology in teacher education as they explore contemporary, creative and innovative solutions to integrate technology across a global context.” The research was supported in part by the Educational Leadership Department of the College of Education.
